It's not an easy task to find  just the right gift you for that special lady. Have you started the coffee? How about breakfast? Cant' cook? No worries, moms will never judge you on your culinary capabilites on this day. She'll choked back the tears as she swallows and smiles. Burned or still raw, it's all delicious. Because even on her day, she wouldn't do or say anything to break her little angel's heart. So get up this morning and tell the woman who gave you life, wiped your nose and kissed all the boo-boos--no matter where they were, 'Mom I luv ya!' Give a a big wet kiss and hand her a tissue to wipe away the tears she's been holding back since the first sip of coffee sweetened with maple syrup...well you were out of sugar. It's got sugar in it. Right? Love ya Mom!  Happy Mother's Day to mine and all of your's.

Now that I have a brand new addition to my family, I find that I tend to run low on spare or any time for myself. I'm preparing to return to work and split my time once more like the splitting of tiny atoms. My HD DVR has become my best friend these days, as watching a show when it is programmed into the family primetime schedule. Primetime for me has transpired into diaper, feeding, burping, and bathing time. That being said, I was speaking with a good friend last evening, and by speaking I mean typing IM messages with one hand while my daughter uses my body for a jungle gym. My friend shared with me that Dancing with the Stars was a favorite show of hers. Not an easy feat for her, for this show is her guilty pleasure.  I had to smile at her uneasiness to tell me her dirty little secret, but I have many of my own.  With the little one here now, I find a lot of the oldies from my girl's childhood and mine, slipping back into my life. My girls influence a lot of my interest these days. So these are my confessions...The Vampire Diaries. Come on, who can resist not one, but two hot vampire brothers.  Twilight...Wolfpack, need I say more?  Elmo's World, that's one cute monster. Miley Cyrus not Hannah Montana, hey I went from watching her dad in those tight jeans, to admiring her for the beautiful music she has grown into creating. Lady Gaga--you have to admire a woman who has the same sense of style and class as Elton John.  Let me not forget-- texting. I take pride in being able to keep up with my teen daughters in the world of texting. These are only a few of course...I can't tell you everything. So there it is my first blog as I return back to the writing and working world. I've shared with you, now come on and share your guilty little secrets with me.

ProudVeteran I come from a family of military personnel. We cover ever branch of the military and have extended our service through several great wars.  I am proud to be a veteran and will always cherish and remember my time served to my country as a very special time in my life. Happy Veterans Day to those who have served and those who continue to protect our borders against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.

FirstKissFriday

IMG_0084IMG_0076Hey guys I'm back from my vacation in the woods. I spent a wonder few days in a quaint little cabin out in Dupont National Forest with my family. My youngest thought it would be one of the coolest trips, because of her love for waterfalls. Right up until the moment she realized her cell phone had no signal and her dad and I had selected a cabin with no wireless internet or digital tv. LOL I knew the deal before we left so she did have my laptop and movies to watch. She was good to go for a while. The falls were great! I am very fortunate to have such wonders so very close to where I live. After a little trekking into the woods we saw some of North Carolina's most beautiful falls. If you get out to Asheville, N.C. by all means check out Biltmore Estate but you've got to take in the hidden sites as well. Enjoy!

And it was AWESOME!!! This author and my daughter who jumped in for Jax, certainly had a blast. Lori, Dianne and the gang did a wonderful job of pulling the  event together. I got the chance to met people I've known for quite awhile and never had the chance to meet--like Ms. Brea and my wonderful cover artist Valerie. Not to mention, Faith Bicknell-Brown, the woman responsible for giving me a chance to show my stuff in her One Touch, One Glance Anthology and Trinity Blacio, who graced the pages with myself, Brea and Faith. img_0039I also had a chance to sit and chat with one of the biggest motivators I've met on my road to becoming a  published author, The Great One, Ms. Jacquelyn Frank, author of the Nightwalker series. Her new series, Shadowdwellers is sure to shine as bright as those gentleman in the Nightwalker series did. I also had the chance to meet Bianca D'Arc, who is responsible for putting Jacki and I together. If not for her I would have never found out that one of the top paranormal romance authors lived right in the same area as I do. Who knew? And folks, I hate to brag but I road the elevator with Shiloh Walker. Yes indeed, from the fifth floor all the way down to the first floor. I know, you don't have to tell me, you're jealous. :) There were a lot of events planned for the weekend, meeting and greeting, presentations, book fair and the such. I have to say one of the highlights of my weekend, was getting to know some members of the Ravenous Romance family. Lori Perkins, a name that has had the living daylights scared out of me since the day I read about her, (Which you have to check out when you get the chance) proved to be nothing I'd ever thought an agent would be and everything an agent should be. She shared a world of information and ice cream with my daughter and I. Then I met some of her authors, Jamaica Layne, Lexi Ryan and Bethany Michaels. Let me tell you these ladies are a hoot to be around and definitely people I will have to stay in touch with. I am now hooked on Graeter's ice cream thanks to Jamaica. :)   img_0054So with a weekend of networking, shopping and eating things I know I shouldn't but had to, and watching my fourteen year old shop till she dropped, I can say I'm really looking forward to next year. Please disregard the expressions on my face in some of them. I was talking to my daughter while she was taking the pictures and with teenagers, you only get one snap and that's it. LOLAttending Authors
img_0050OMG! Did I forget to mention the cover model? Or as my daughter refers to him as "The Sexy Beast." LOL
Later Folks!
